Would you bite the hand that feeds?

The new NIN album With Teethis great – it was never going to be another Downward Spiral or Fragile, but it’s certainly made its way to a regular rotation in my car and house (to the discontent of my fellow housemates – they think Trent’s voice is annoying). Speaking of which, for the last month or two I have had this really, really annoying rattling sound coming from the general direction of the back right speaker of my car. It was quite a conundrum to me, because it was obviously coming from the actual speaker, however it wasn’t dependant on whether the music was on or off, i.e. it wasn’t because of static or a cracked speaker or whatever. I finally noticed today that one of the metal wires that hangs around the speaker thrumming in the air (not even against something) so fast that it is making this sound. So I plan to attack the problem with blu-tack and ingeniousness.
University continues to chug its merry way along the road that ends with me having a heart attack from mounting deadline pressure. Although some respite was gained from Bob letting us know that the Astrophysics assignment has an extra week added. Oh! And good news on the first assignment – 56/60 = 93.3%. Which is the first really great mark I’ve had for a while (discounting DEED) so its kind of lifted my spirits a bit.
My typing speed is getting crazy nowadays. I had a couple of first years looking at me in combination of awe, disbelief and ‘omgwhatanerd’ in the computer labs today as I tapped out a couple of emails. And for once I wasn’t making any mistakes. Score one me.
Cian leaves tomorrow. Ross Noble tonight. Should be good. Trying not to think about it too deeply. Leave that for when she leaves and I can sit down and shake my head in disbelief. Though as mum said, the rigors of travel in terms of communication with friends and family is greatly reduced nowadays by the increasing level of technology. Well, actually she said “Well at least you can talk to her over the internet.” Paraphrasing roxors. But yes, I shall have her talk to me every day or I shall go over there and reveal her old character in front of all her new friends. Muahahaha! Take that Michael Douglas!
Much time passes (I love transformers):
Just got back from Mr Noble’s show – mein gott he’s hilarious. Just a rambling vortex of wit and spontaneous tangents. Though I suspect that a couple of those are quite deliberate he’s subtle about it. Also gave Cian her camera – which she hopefully liked. She said so , which is cool. So yeah. Me beddy time now.
