Freedom

Last exam finished yesterday at 8:45pm. Much hollering and whooping and general noise making was made and that feeling of relief and de-stress was goddamn near palpable. If I could have bottled it up and kept it for nasty days I would have, but such feats aren’t easily done.
So. What to do with one’s self? It still hasn’t sunk in properly that I’m on holidays. Maybe because I’ve got to work the next three nights – the fact hanging over my conciousness like a wet rag. After that though I think I’ll probably be wandering around the house and realize…hey! I don’t have to do a solid state assignment this week. In fact, no assignments at all! And the ensuing madness of Summer holidays will proceed. Well, this summer anyway. I want to do things this summer. And to that end I think I’ll compile a list. Right here, right now as Mr. FatBoySlim might sample. In no particular order, I want to:
*Write a novella
*Take dancing lessons Every week for four weeks starting 23rd of the 11th
*Learn the basics of guitar
*Paint something
*Go two weeks consecutively without the internet
*Learn to cook more meals
*Clean out my car 23rd of the 11th
*Beachify myself 20th of the 11th
*Lose the 8kg or so I’ve gained during the leadup and performance of exams and buff up to a certain extent
*Grow my hair out 29th of the 11th

*Find an aftershave (Jean Paul Gaultier is apparently the ‘shave of choice by the style sisters, Deb and Cian)
*Write letters to everyone I know overseas
*Spring clean 22nd of the 11th

*Gather up all of my photos and make an album. Better yet, actually print some of the thousands of photos I have sitting in my ‘camera’ directory 22nd of the 11th
*Finish watching Dead Like Me 23rd of the 11th, MacGuyver and House 30th of the 11th seasons
*Spend an entire day in bed
*Rediscover photography (maybe get some people to model?)
*Ride my bike places
*Completely lose myself down south
*Get better at handling crowds 25th of the 11th
*Make shirts for all my friends

*Watch ‘A Home at the end of the World’, ‘Hedwig and the angry inch ‘, trois couleurs – um..kieslowski, closer, dead man, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, the dangerous lives of altar boys, garden state, igby goes down, the sea inside, voices of a distant star, niceland and kids.
*Read ‘Ishamel’, any Henry Miller, Jonathon Safran Foer or Daniel Quinn
*Find one of your fav. authors’/directors’/musicians addresses. or try to find ;) mm, internet hunts..
*Make origami
*Fingerpaint
*Buy some chalk and decorate your sidewalks.
*Go out in some random public place and observe people..sketch or write about them
*Wear a bra one full day and TELL ME HOW COMFORTABLE IT IS
*Volunteer somewhere
That’s all I got so far. Anything else you guys can recommend as good activities? I don’t want to be sitting in front of a computer this time, so I really would appreciate any sort of input.
Time to go and start packing I suppose. Gotta be out of this place and back home before about the 26th of this month, so I’m moving a lot of my books and shit back today before work at 5pm. Ugh. Back in the saddle in that respect.
