You’ll recognise, it’s summertime

Okay, if y’all hadn’t noticed I haven’t really been updating per se, more like crossing things off the list down one entry. This here is where I’ll report if any of the activities below were more or less interesting than what they sounded like, i.e. I’m not going to make a post if I sat around all day and watched ‘Dead Like Me’ – though the show certainly deserves whatever press it can get, I know you guys probably don’t give a shit. Nor are you likely hanging off your seat in anticipation of how sparkling clean my room got today.

So yes. Watch this space for experimental hijinx and events recollected with what will most likely be more than a little haziness.

Swing Dancing:
Fuck this is fun. I recommend everyone to start learning A.S.A.P. Essentially Louise and I showed up a little late and got to look embarrassed as we chucked our thing sin a corner and joined in a line-Charlton of basic moves. Then it was out into a circle for partner work, which is a little more difficult but obviously more to the point of dancing. Unfortunately it seemed we turned up on curiously-small-people night because I (and Louise apparently) had trouble when it came to swapping partners. I think that’s what caused cramps in my knees at around three the next morning. Midgets aside it was a really great night/morning all up and I look forward to the next one ;)

The Circus and Crowds:
The Jim Rose circus, one of the freak show circuses that travels around the globe every now and then, was pretty cool. There were some very cringe-worthy moments (cock in a racoon trap anyone?) and some of the comments by Mr. Rose were hilarious. All up though it did seem a bit lacklustre, the porn star especially didn’t really contribute much to the whole show. But hell, it was good for a laugh and an eww. We managed to hook up with the guys going on the pub crawl after that, perfect timing at Carnegies and then onto the Deen. That’s where the strike for crowd handling comes in – if I can dance (yes, Cian, DANCE) and kiss my girlfriend in the middle of a floor at the Deen while only being mildly tipsy I think I can safely say I can handle crowds better. Of course, the next morning kind of went haywire for various reasons, the chief being lack of sleep. That’s the above entry if you’re wondering. But it’s all good now, bring on more strikes!
