apathy

by phill

I’m developing a pretty formidable apathy with regards to a lot of the activities I would usually enjoy. I’m not sure if this is related to my increased need for sleep (and corresponding lack of it), or if it is merely a consequence of the seasons turning. Any sort of serious writing output is out of the question, though I’ve recently submitted an entry to Steve’s 365 tomorrows website, and penned a short, meandering story for the revival of FotoFriday‘s weekly pictorial prompts. Which is 2,000 more words than I produced last week; a start then, to build on in the coming weeks.

I’ve taken down a lot of my work on public websites, including this blog, in order to work on them more in private.  I am also deathly afraid of Google’s cache, in that if I eventually do send out pieces to prospective publishers they might find them previously ‘published’ on places like deviantART and HumbleVoice. So it’s all being squirreled away, to be reworked, edited, and hopefully sent out. I have a lot of .txts that need to be gone through and farmed for the minuscule ideas they contain. If Q10 is good for one thing it’s bolstering text document populations on my hard drive. It’s something to do while I am in this state of limbo.
