Things are looking
up. Just got a call from the real estate agent; despite (because of?) not checking any of our references, it appears that Shani, Louise and I will be moving into our rental starting next Monday. Can I get a woot woot? And so the packing begins.
Also for the interest of the five people that have searched for writing-related items and found my blog, I stumbled across a poster this morning at Curtin University which proclaimed Dot Dot Dash as accepting submissions for fresh poetry, prose, and visual arts. Their poster was quite slick and their website is just as (although the header image needs to be better rendered if you ask me, too much jagginess =.jpgerised). So consider it if you have some words that need homes.
Seeing Okkervil River tonight. Should be fun. I only really know their latest album, but if that’s any indication of the rest of their discography it shouldbe a pretty nicely laid back evening. Here’s hoping the crowd aren’t too douchebaggy; it’s at the Capitol, so I may have to just groan internally at all the indy types milling around looking ironically similar. I’ll be the guy in a red t-shirt, jeans, and hiking shoes, looking incredibly tired but enjoying a beer at the back.

Looks like I’ll be lifting more boxes… ggrrooaann….
Congrats on getting the rental place! Share-housing is always a fun adventure. Good luck!
Oh shit Phil, I should have told you about Dot Dot Dash ages ago – one of my old guild cronies is behind much of it, Bec Higgy (you may have met her). I’ll send you an invite through Facebook as a reminder, I was half considering submitting to it myself.
Congrats on the house too, let me know if you need a hand moving (and when the house warming is)
I’d help you move, but I’m on the other side of the planet. Sigh. You still got the box o’ CDs? If you want, feel free to get rid of them, it’s highly unlikely I’ll actually need them over here now.
